BULLETIN FOR SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 27, 2015

We extend a very warm welcome from the entire F.E.A. family to you today. May God bless you richly.

Just this past week US News carried an article “School Prayer Fight Begins Anew.” This came about because of a law signed by Gov. Pat McCrory of North Carolina in June to go into effect this school year. This law seeks “to clarify student rights to engage in prayer and religious activity in school, to create an administrative process for remedying complaints regarding exercise of those student rights and to clarify religious activity for school personnel.”

But they will also have on their hands a letter sent from the Americans United for Separation of Church and State. This is a letter warning them that this new law concerning religious expression in schools is unconstitutional. These opponents say it will actually authorize public school employees to participate in religious expression in a way prohibited by First Amendment. But according to the state lawmakers who sponsored the bill, the new law does no such thing. On the contrary, the law will clarify which religious expressions in public schools are constitutional and which are not.

It is very obvious that despite the recent act to promote abomination in our nation, God is still at work in the hearts of people in strategic places. Thank God all is not lost. This is a move in the right direction. May God bless those state legislators in North Carolina for their faith and courage in initiating such action. Let us remember to bear them up in our prayers. Furthermore, let us pray that God would confound the opponents and that what has begun as a small flame would soon engulf the entire school system in our nation.

10 Amazing Bible Facts (Last Part)
by DAVID PEACH

9 – The Prophecies of the Bible
There are more than 3,200 verses with fulfilled prophecy either within the Bible itself or since the Bible was written. But there are still more than 3,100 verses with unfulfilled prophecies.
10 – The Writers of the Bible
While there were at least 40 different people who wrote parts of the Bible, some were more prolific than others. The Apostle Paul wrote at least 13 books of the Bible. He may have also been the author of the book of Hebrews. Moses wrote the first 5 books.
The Bible attributes more than 3,000 proverbs to King Solomon. These are not all written in the book of Proverbs. However, most of that book is said to be the proverbs of Solomon.

BULLETIN FOR SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 20, 2015

We thank God for this new day which He has given to us. As we worship, let us do so in spirit and in truth for this pleases Him.

On Monday September 14, Charisma Magazine reported about the infiltration of Islam into our schools. The report surrounded Parents in Tennessee who are voicing their concerns about a middle school history assignment in which students were asked to write that “Allah is the only God.” That same morning one parent joined “Fox and Friends” stating that she has no problem with her seventh-grade daughter learning about Islam as part of world history, but that she feels time should also be devoted to Christianity.

According to reports, the children were given an assignment to list the five pillars of Islam. They were also required to learn the Islamic conversion creed. The same parent is reported to have approached the school teacher and principal on the inclusion of Christianity. But she was informed that there would not be any similar lessons on Christianity and Judaism.
School officials only promised that students would eventually come across a reference to Christianity when history teachers reach the “Age of Exploration” in the eighth grade. Students would then hear about Christians persecuting other Christians in some other countries in Western Europe.

Well, to put it bluntly, in my opinion, this is nothing more than Christianity out and Islam in. We must, therefore, as parents, grandparents and mothers in Zion, become more aggressive in prayer for our descendants and in teaching them the word of God. It is very clear that Satan is advancing his plan for the destruction of our children, grandchildren and our boys and girls. But through prayer and the Word, we can counteract and cancel his destructive plan and effect God’s good plan and purpose for them. Remember God’s promise, “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” Prov. 22:6.

10 Amazing Bible Facts (Third Part)
by DAVID PEACH

7 – The Business of the Bible
There are more than 168,000 Bibles either sold or given away per day in the United States according to the Gideons, Wycliffe International and the International Bible Societies.

Historically it has been said that the Bible is the most sold book of all time. It is regularly on various best seller lists.

The Bible has been translated into more than 1,200 languages.

8 – The Bible Never Contradicts Itself
There are no contradictions in the Bible. Various people claim to find contradictions but they have to take verses out of context to do so. When looking at the Bible as a whole and understanding its teachings there are no contradictions. This is amazing when one considers that the Bible was written over such a long period of time.

BULLETIN FOR SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 13, 2015

We thank God for this new day which He has given to us. As we worship, Let us do it with our whole heart.

This past week, Charisma Magazine carried an article with the caption, “Wanted: A Million More Bold Christians Like Kim Davis”. Kim Davis is a Christian woman who was elected as Rowan County clerk in Kentucky. She has refused to sign her name to marriage certificates that defy God’s natural design for this institution. Instead, Kim has requested, as a simple accommodation, that either her name be removed from the marriage licenses or that licenses be issued by the chief executive of Rowan County or by developing a statewide, online marriage license process.

It is felt by many that this was a reasonable and fair request. No doubt, this is based on the fact that our nation has long been known for respecting the rights of conscientious objectors. Furthermore, the fact remains that people do not abandon their First Amendment rights when they become government employees. “There is absolutely no reason that this case has gone so far without reasonable people respecting and accommodating Kim Davis’ First Amendments rights,” said Mat Staver, the attorney for Davis and head of Liberty Counsel, a Christian civil rights organization.

Kim Davis made her position abundantly clear last week Thursday, September 3, when she stated the following: “This is a heaven or hell issue and for every other Christian that believes. This is a fight worth fighting… I’ve weighed the cost and I’m prepared to go to jail.”

We need to keep Kim Davis in our prayers.  The Bible urges us to pray one for another. On Tuesday she was released from prison with a strict order from the Judge not to interfere with the issuing of marriage licenses by her officers. According to Matt Barber of Charisma News, “For the first time in America, a woman was imprisoned for exercising her Christian faith. Is this an indication of things to come? Only God knows.

10 Amazing Bible Facts (Second Part)

by DAVID PEACH

6 – The Bible is Historically Accurate

There were several secular historians who wrote about the events of the New Testament at the same time the Bible was being written. Josephus is the most well-known of them. He was a Jewish historian. Tacitus was a Roman historian who would have no benefit from not telling the truth. Both these men, as well as others, can be used to back up the historical accuracy of the Bible.

There are historical discoveries regularly coming to light that continue to support the accuracy of the Bible. Merrill Unger, who compiled a Bible dictionary wrote, “Old Testament archeology has rediscovered whole nations, resurrected important peoples, and in a most astonishing manner filled in historical gaps, adding immeasurably to the knowledge of Biblical backgrounds.”

BULLETIN FOR SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 6TH, 2015

We bless the eternal King for His goodness and love to us. May we give Him the worship that He is due today.

Well, the summer is over and here we are at the beginning of another school year! Praise God for preserving our boys and girls throughout the summer. May they all come to know Him and as a result come to know who they are.  On Tuesday, Christian Post carried a picture of students gathered outside a school building with the caption, “Over 150 High Schoolers Stage Walkout Protest After Trans Student Seeks to Use Girls’ Locker Room”

On Monday, August 31, the first day of the 2015 school year, the students of Hillsboro High School in Missouri, staged a walkout protest after a transgender student requested the use of the female locker room and bathrooms.  Over 150 students walked out of the school to voice their disapproval of Lila Perry, a 17 year old male student who decided last February that he is a transgender.

The Thursday prior to the beginning of School dozens of parents attended a school board meeting at Hillsboro High School to discuss their concerns over the senior transgender student’s desire to use the girls’ locker room and bathrooms. Students and parents took to the school’s parking lot on Monday to tell administrators they won’t allow girls’ privacy rights to be infringed upon for this matter.

As we all can see, the confusion has now reached into our schools. We need to pray earnestly for our children as they return to School. With the passage of the same sex marriage act, only God knows what they will now be confronted with. But prayer is a mighty powerful weapon. Through this medium our children can be preserved and kept from all the mess that will surround them in the school. May God give to us the grace that we will need for this trying hour.

-2 Timoteo 3:16-17 (NVI)

10 Amazing Bible Facts (First Part)

by DAVID PEACH

1 – The Writing of the Bible

The Bible was written over a 1600 year period by approximately 40 men. The time of the writing was from 1500 BC to AD 100.

2 – The Divisions of the Bible

While the Bible is 1 book, it contain 66 smaller books. The books of the Old Testament were written before the birth of Jesus Christ and the New Testament covers the life of Christ and beyond.

3 – Chapters and Verses

Each of the books, except 5, are divided into chapters and verses. The 5 which aren’t divided by chapters are Obadiah, Philemon, 2 John, 3 John, and Jude. These are short books which only have verse divisions.

Chapters were introduced to the Bible in 1238 by Cardinal Hugo de S. Caro. Verse divisions were not added until 1551 by Robertus Stephanus.

4 – The Longest and Shortest of the Bible

The longest chapter if the Bible is Psalm 119 with 176 verses. The shortest chapter is Psalm 117 with only 2 verses. Incidentally, the middle chapter of the Bible is Psalm 118. Also Psalm 117.

The longest book of the Bible is Psalms with 150 chapters, or psalms. It contains 43,743 words. The shortest book is 3 John with only 1 chapter and 299 words.

The longest verse in the Bible is Esther 8:9 with 90 words. The shortest verse is John 11:35 with only 2 words, “Jesus wept.”

5 – The Bible Claims to be God’s Word

There are many books written about and by various religions. But the Bible is the only one which claims to be the actual words of God. Those who believe the Bible also believe that God inspired various people through the years to write down His actual words for mankind. The Bible says more than 3,000 times “thus saith the Lord.” It claims that the words which follow are quotes from God.

BULLETIN FOR SUNDAY AUGUST 30, 2015

We give God praise and thanks for another day of worship. We are glad that you have come. May you be blessed today.

Not very long ago, the Christian Post featured an article about a New Jersey teenager who stood up against atheists seeking to legally remove the phrase “one nation under God” in our Pledge of Allegiance.  Samantha Jones, a senior at Highland Regional High School celebrated what she describes as the right of her fellow students to keep reciting the pledge of allegiance in its entirety, according to a release from the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty which represented her.

In a case filed in February 2014, the American Humanist Association claimed the recitation of the pledge violates Article 1 of the New Jersey’s constitution. They wanted the words “one nation under God” removed from the pledge. The case was filed on behalf of an unnamed New Jersey family from Monmouth County against the Matawan-Aberdeen Regional School District. But after hearing Samantha and her family’s testimony, a state judge dismissed the case.

Samantha said, “Ever since I was little, I’ve recited the Pledge of Allegiance because it sums up the values that make our country great. The phrase ‘under God’ protects all Americans — including atheists — because it reminds the government that it can’t take away basic human rights because it didn’t create them.”

This is so impressive coming from a teenager.  May God bless Samantha for taking this stand for Him.  May we also be challenged to encourage our young people to stand up for God.  Thank God, with all that is going on in the world in relation to the younger generation, there are still those who are  standing for God and right. Amen!

-Isaías 30:21 (NVI)
BUT WHAT IF I MISS GOD?

Sometimes we experience hesitation in life because we are afraid we might “miss God,” or do something wrong as we try to follow Him. Let me encourage you by telling you that if you miss God’s will for you somehow, you don’t have to worry— He’ll find you. I think we all get lost in life at times and need the mercy of God to show up and get us back on the right track. Today, you can thank God that He is faithful to straighten out any crooked path in front of you.

If you are afraid of making wrong decisions about your direction in life, all you have to do is remember how much God loves you and look at the testimonies of the people who have gone before you. The Bible is full of miraculous stories of God’s guidance and provision.

When we take a step of faith after praying and seeking God, if we do make a mistake, then God will help us get back on track. Thankfully, God can make that so‑called mistake somehow work out for our good.

Prayer of Thanks

I thank You, Father, that You see my heart. If I miss Your voice and Your direction in my life, I thank You that You’ll find me and get me going in the right direction. I trust Your guidance and I choose today not to live in fear of missing You.    ~ Joyce Meyer

BULLETIN FOR SUNDAY AUGUST 23, 2015

We give God praise and thanks for another day of worship. We are glad that you have come. May you be blessed today.

Two jailed South Sudanese pastors have been set free after a judge found them guilty, but ruled that they already served their sentences. Yat Michael and Peter Yen were convicted respectively of breaching the peace and managing a criminal or terrorist organization. Michael and Yen together faced six charges, but were not convicted of four of them, including undermining the constitutional system and espionage—charges which carry punishments of the death penalty or life imprisonment.

Last December, Michael was imprisoned after preaching at Khartoum Bahri Evangelical Church.  This church had been harassed by the government as Muslim investors tried to take it over, according to Morning Star News. In January, Yen was arrested after inquiring about Michael’s disappearance. Members of the National Intelligence and Security Services, whom many believe is run by radical Islamists, were responsible for Michael and Yen’s arrests.

We thank God for the release of these two pastors. These are indeed the last of the last days. Jesus said that all this would happen in the end time,”…they shall lay their hands on you and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name sake.” (Lk. 21:12).  Such persecution has not reached us as yet, but it may, sooner than we think. Let us rededicate our lives to God and be ready to take our stand for Him.

Spanish Scripture
: (Mark 6:31)

“ Y como no tenían tiempo ni para comer, pues era tanta la gente que iba y venía, Jesús les dijo: —Vengan conmigo ustedes solos a un lugar tranquilo y descansen un poco.”

-Marcos 6:31 (NVI)

SLACK TIDE

I find it fascinating to consider the pull of the moon on our great oceans, which creates high and low tides. At the changing of the tide, there is a brief period of time called “slack tide” when the water is neither high nor low. According to scientists, this is when the water is “unstressed.” It is a quiet pause before the surging of tidal flow begins again.

Sometimes in our busy schedules we may feel pulled in different directions by competing responsibilities. In Jesus’ ministry, we see how He understood the demands made on His followers and the need for rest. Returning from a traveling ministry in teams of two, the Twelve reported the wonderful things that God had done through them (Mark 6:7-13,30).  But Jesus responded: “’Come aside by yourselves to a deserted place and rest a while.’ For there were many coming and going, and they did not even have time to eat. So they departed to a deserted place in the boat by themselves”. (vv.31-32).

What responsibilities are pulling on you today? It is certainly acceptable to plan some rest and relaxation time to rejuvenate your body and soul for more fruitful service to others. Jesus advised it, and we all need it. He will meet you there.    –Dennis Fisher

BULLETIN FOR SUNDAY AUGUST 16, 2015

Thank God that we can come together here again in one accord. Thanks for coming. Let us expect great things today.

Teen Mania, a ministry that caters to young people, took its Acquire the Fire conference overseas for the first time in July this year. The location was Myanmar, (Burma), a country which is reported as one of the hardest place for Christians to live. The conference which lasted for two nights, from July 24 – 25 was attended by more than 13,000 Burmese youths.  It was held in Yangon, the nation’s largest city.

Teen Mania president, Ron Luce, said the following: “It’s been 60 years since the gospel was publicly proclaimed to this predominantly Buddhist nation. We pray this will be the start of a new day of ministry in Myanmar. The prayers of Myanmar’s faithful are being answered. God has not forgotten them, and neither have we.”

Within the past four years, Myanmar has begun the transition from a military dictatorship to a budding democracy. This has paved the way for way for economic trade and has increased access to the West.  Myanmar Evangelical Christian Fellowship invited Teen Mania to bring Acquire the Fire to their nation. The conference’s success was important for Myanmar, but also for Teen Mania.

We give God praise for the many young people who were impacted in Myanmar with the Gospel by Teen Mania. We must remember to pray for them that they would be established in righteousness so that they may be able to influence the lives of other youths. The Word of God says, “I have written unto you young men because you are strong and the Word of God abides in you, and you have overcome the wicked one. (1 Jn. 2:14b)

BULLETIN FOR SUNDAY AUGUST 9, 2015

Thank God that we can come together here again in one accord. Thanks for coming. Let us expect great things today.

Recently, the Christian Post reported about the awful conditions of oppression and suffering in the Middle East because of the Islamists. However, in the midst of this chaos and oppression, a glimmer of hope has emerged as thousands of people from traditional Muslim backgrounds receive Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord.

Says Barazan Azeezi of Iraq, “I was a devoted Muslim and I often preached, but there was something missing. There was something empty about Allah and the Quran. Jesus appeared to me in a dream and open my eyes … what was missing were His love and peace.” Like many others disillusioned with the widespread oppression and injustice, Azeezi soon went looking for a Bible and started to read it and study it.  He further stated “I used to be a violent person internally and I was always afraid of Allah. I kept following instructions to satisfy him; however, as I read the Bible I began to love the true God and see His truth.”

Some new believers told Christian Post that Jesus appeared to them personally.  Others were led to missionaries or churches to find out more about Him. Even some hardened Islamic State killers have been touched.

It is to be noted that Muslims who embrace Christianity are ostracized by the community, disowned by their families and sometimes even killed for their faith.  In light of this, we need to be in constant prayer for our brethren in the Middle East. Let us pray that God would give them the grace and strength necessary to maintain their commitment to Him against all these odds.

BULLETIN FOR SUNDAY AUGUST 2, 2015

“O come let us worship and bow down…” We thank God that you have come to join us as we worship. May you be blessed.

This past week I was very blessed to read on godreport.com about the recent winner of the British Open golf tournament and the important role which the word of God played in his victory. Zack Johnson is a 39 year old committed Christian from Cedaras Rapids Iowa. Repeating the Scriptures in his heart consistently throughout the tournament, this born again golfer became one of only six golfers ever to win the Master’s at Augusta and the British Open at St. Andrew’s. This he did when he beat two others in the playoffs on July 20.

“I was patient, he said, “I had some Scripture going in my head. I thank the Lord. I feel like God gave me the ability to play a game …” Johnson said that he remained calm confessing in heart as he played, Ps 27:14, “Wait on the Lord: Be of good courage and He will strengthen your heart.” Zack’s ball marker for the green (golf hole area) has printed on it Pro. 3:5-6, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight.” Johnson’s wins so far have earned him over 37million dollars..

This is a clear demonstration of the power of the word of God when it is applied by the child of God. Zack Johnson is not just relying on his ability, but he is coupling it with the word of God and reaping tremendous success as a result. It can also work for you as a child of God. Remember what God said to Joshua: “This book of the law shall not depart out of your mouth, but, you shall meditate therein day and night. For in so doing you shall make your way prosperous and you shall have great success.” (Josh. 1:8).

Spanish Scripture: (Psalm 59:16)
“Pero yo le cantaré a tu poder,
y por la mañana alabaré tu amor;
porque tú eres mi protector,
mi refugio en momentos de angustia.”
-Salmo 59:16 (NVI)

SNAPING, SNARLING THOUGHTS
Many years ago, my father and I hiked through Big Bend in Texas. It’s a national park now, but in those days it was rough country.

One night we were rolling out our sleeping bags when a couple with a dog asked if they could camp nearby. We welcomed their company and turned in for the night. They tethered their dog to a stake beside their tent.

Some hours later my father nudged me awake and turned his flashlight into the darkness. Illuminated by the light, we saw pairs of yellow eyes peering out of the shadows. A pack of snapping and snarling coyotes were closing in on the dog. Although we chased them off and our neighbors put the dog in their tent, we slept fitfully.

I think of that night when I read Psalm 59 and David’s twice-repeated imagery: “At evening they return, they growl like a dog” (vv.6,14). David was thinking of Saul’s army that was closing in on him. I think, however, of the thoughts that return to menace us. They come back at nightfall, snapping and snarling: “You’re stupid.” “You’re a failure.” “You’re useless.” “Who needs you?”

When we have such thoughts, we can revel in God’s unconditional, unending love. His steady devotion is our refuge in the dark night of self-doubt and fear (v.16)
