BULLETIN FOR SUNDAY MAY 17, 2015

Once again we welcome you to another FEA worship experience. “This is the day which the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.”

Israel has initiated a mission intended to raise up a generation of Christian leaders who will support Israel. “It is critical to bring the next generation of leaders in the Christian community to Israel,” declared Israeli Ambassador to the US Ron Dermer at the annual Christian Solidarity Event at the Israeli Embassy in Washington, DC.
The new program, titled “Covenant Journey” will bring hundreds of Christian student leaders to Israel.  Organizers are now in the planning stages to bring thousands more young Christians over the next few years in order to begin building bridges with Israel.  Students will be able to join the Covenant Journey for only $500, thanks to subsidization by Christian donors. As they experience Israel firsthand, their faith will be strengthened, their knowledge of the Bible will be increased and their understanding of the connection between the Bible and the Land of Israel will be put on solid ground. It will create a foundational platform from which they can become goodwill ambassadors for Israel and the Jewish people.

This is a very proactive and positive effort on the part of Israel. They have decided to impact the young non-Israelis so that they can have a more favorable view of the holy land and its people.  Let us pray for them that God would bless and prosper their effort.

BULLETIN FOR SUNDAY MAY 10, 2015

Once again we welcome all of you who have come to worship with us.  But we especially welcome our mothers today on this your special day.  May God bless and minister unto you today.

Motherhood is a God-given responsibility.  As a result a mother should take it very seriously knowing that one day she will have to give God an account for how she has handled this very important task.  God gives to children two parents, a father and a mother.  A father cannot be a mother neither can a mother be a father.  However, where one of these parties is absent, the remaining party must pick up the slack.  More often than not, that person is the mother.

While we all know children are a gift from God, we also know that this gift isn’t for those who have a faint heart or a weak will.  You need to know that you have what it takes to be a mother.

God be praised for his faithfulness to our mothers, even in some very difficult circumstances.  Many of them have struggled against the odds with the help of God Almighty to help us succeed in life.  May God bless our mothers on this very special day.

              HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!

BULLETIN FOR SUNDAY MAY 3, 2015

Welcome to FEA where we are holding forth the Word of Life. May the life of God come into your heart and world today.

Likely presidential candidate and former Southern Baptist pastor Mike Huckabee recently urged Christians to stay out of the military until after the next election.  He said they are no longer welcomed there. “Why would they want to be in a military that would be openly hostile and not just simply bring some scorn to their faith, but would punish them for it?” Huckabee said in a recent interview.  In recent years, enough of his fellow Southern Baptists have left active duty. As a result, atheists now outnumber soldiers from that church.

According to the latest Department of Defense statistics on religion, there were 12,360 Southern Baptists among the US military’s 1.3 million members on active duty as of December 2014. There were also 12,764 atheists—an advantage of 404 over Southern Baptists.  By contrast, Southern Baptists outnumbered atheists by about 10,000 in 2009, with 16,975 Southern Baptists and only 6,702 atheists on active duty. The Washington Times recently predicted a mass exodus of Christians from the military.

It is very clear from this incident that where believers retreat, the Devil advances. Notice how the atheists are overtaking the military.  The Bible says that “…the righteous are bold as a lion.”(Pr.28:1).  Where is the boldness that characterizes the believer? We need believers in our military who know how to pray and attract God’s favor in our battles. Let us begin to pray a halt to this mass exodus of believers from our military.

SPANISH SCRIPTURE:

“Cristo es la piedra viva, rechazada por los seres humanos

pero escogida  y preciosa ante Dios…”

1 Pedro 2:4 (NVI)

ALL THAT IS PRECIOUS

Throughout my life, I’ve accumulated a lot of stuff. I have boxes of things that at one time were important but ever time have lost their intrigue. And, as an unrepentant collector, I’ve realized that the thrill is in searching for and acquiring a new piece to add to the collection. Then my attention turns toward the hunt for the next item.

While we pile up many things that are important to us, very little of it is really precious. In fact, over time I have learned that the most precious things in life are not material items at all. Rather, it’s the people who have loved me and built into my life who are precious. When I find my heart saying, “I don’t’ know what I’d do without them,” I know that they are indeed precious to me.

So when Peter refers to Jesus as “a chief cornerstone, elect, precious” (1 Peter 2:6), it should resonate in our hearts that He is truly precious-our prized possession above everything and everyone else. Where would we be today without the constant unfailing companionship of His faithful presence, wise and perfect guidance, merciful patience, comfort, and transforming reproof? What would we do without Him? I can’t even imagine!                                                 Joe Stowell

Lord, help us not to focus on fleeting treasures but on You, our most precious treasure. Teach us the joy of reveling in You and Your loving presence and provision in our lives.

Of all that is precious, Jesus tops the list.

BULLETIN FOR SUNDAY APRIL 26, 2015

We welcome you in Jesus’ name. This is a new day to praise and worship the Lord. Let us do so faithfully and joyfully.

Once again, ISIS has organized and filmed the slaughtering of African Christians who refused to deny their faith. This time, it was about 28 men from Ethiopia who professed Christianity. They were targeted by the Libya affiliate of the self-proclaimed Islamic State. In February, the killing of 21 Egyptian Christians drew widespread horror and fears of future massacres. However, this also led to the largest Bible outreach ever in Egypt.

Just over two weeks ago a 30-minute propaganda video was released. The video of the executions was entitled “Until There Came to Them Clear Evidence”. It switches between a scene on a beach in eastern Libya, where about 15 men in orange boiler suits are beheaded by masked militants, and a scene in a desert area in southern Libya, where similarly dressed members of the ISIS affiliate execute a similar number of men in black boiler suits by shooting them in the head. A subtitle refers to both groups of victims as “worshippers of the cross belonging to the hostile Ethiopian church.” The video also includes scenes depicting the destruction of churches in Syria and Iraq. It condemns the doctrine of the Trinity as a form of apostasy.

As believers, we must not be shocked and surprised at these happenings. Jesus said, “Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and they shall kill you…” (Mt. 24:9). This is no longer a prophecy awaiting fulfillment. It is now being fulfilled.

BULLETIN FOR SUNDAY APRIL 19, 2015

We give God praise for this another opportunity when we can activate the corporate anointing. May all of us be blessed today as we gather in the presence of the Lord.

In Salt Lake City, Utah, a total of 19 religious organizations have come together to ask the Supreme Court to rule against same-sex marriage. Some of these denominations include the National Association of Evangelicals, the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention and the Assemblies of God. They stated that the US Constitution does not require any of the states to take such a “fateful” step.

The amicus brief is one of several other briefs filed with Utah connections in the consolidated same-sex marriage cases from about four other states. The brief argues that if the Supreme Court also designates sexual orientation as a class deserving special protection, like race, then “religious believers could find their speech, association and free-exercise rights diminished or denied in such areas as public education, employment, public accommodations and professional certification. …Essentially, religious beliefs in traditional sexual morality, could come to be equated with racism.”

The oral arguments in this case are slated for April 28. The court is expected to issue a ruling by June 30, this year.

We must admit that our nation is in a state of depravity and
debauchery. Let us keep praying that God would deliver us from this mess so that we will not end up like Sodom and Gomorrah.

BULLETIN FOR SUNDAY APRIL 12, 2015

This is the day which the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.  Welcome to the FEA worship experience.

The National Black Church Initiative (NBCI), a faith-based coalition of 34,000 churches comprised of 15 denominations and 15.7 million African-Americans, has broken its fellowship with Presbyterian Church USA (PCUSA).  This was done as a recent vote by the PCUSA to approve same-sex marriage

The Presbyterian General Assembly, the top legislative body of the PCUSA, voted last June to revise the constitutional language defining marriage. “This arbitrary change of Holy Scripture is a flagrantly pretentious and illegitimate maneuver by a body that has no authority whatsoever to alter holy text,” Rev. Anthony Evans, NBCI President noted:

Evans further said, “PCUSA’s manipulation represents a universal sin against the entire church and its members. With this action, PCUSA can no longer base its teachings on 2,000 years of Christian scripture and tradition, and call itself a Christian entity in the body of Christ.  It has forsaken its right by this single wrong act. “

“In this case, PCUSA deliberately voted to change the Word of God and the interpretation of holy marriage between one man and one woman. This is why we must break fellowship with them and urge the entire Christendom to do so as well.”

We concur with and commend Dr. Tony Evans and the NBC for the firm stand they are taking against the PCUSA for this unholy and ungodly decision May God bless them always.

BULLETIN FOR SUNDAY APRIL 5, 2015

We welcome you to another FEA worship experience. Today is Resurrection Sunday, the day that believers around the world celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ our Savior and Lord.

The Resurrection of Jesus Christ is the grand and glorious announcement of the fact that Christ has conquered the devil and finished the work of redemption which He came to accomplish. He is no longer under the law. He has returned to the glory of heaven. He has fulfilled all the demands of the Law. Now the Law has exhausted itself upon Him, and He will never have to die again.

Jesus Christ entered the realm of sin and death, in order to deliver us from it all once and for all. Now He dies no more. Death has no more dominion over Him! Praise God! That is the meaning of the Resurrection. He has gone back into the realm above and beyond sin the law and death. He has conquered that entire realm, and He has returned to His former glory from which He came. That is the meaning of the Resurrection.

This truth then is basic and foundational to Christianity. If a person does not believe in the resurrection of Jesus Christ, whatever else he may believe, he has no right to call himself a Christian. The great message which the apostles preached could be summed up in the words. Jesus Christ, the resurrected Lord. Had it not been for the resurrection, Christianity would have been non-existent.

Happy Resurrection Day!

BULLETIN FOR SUNDAY MARCH 29, 2015

We welcome you to another FEA worship experience. May you come face to face with God today.

Do you remember the slaughter of 21 Christians in Libya by an ISIS affiliated group a few weeks ago? Well, the director of the Bible Society of Egypt has seen a golden gospel opportunity coming out of it for the advancement of the gospel. Ramez Atallah told his staff, “We must have a Scripture tract ready to distribute to the nation as soon as possible,” This he said the very evening the gruesome video of the slaughter was released. It was less than 36 hours later that Two Rows by the Sea was printed. One week later, 1.65 million copies had been distributed in the Bible Society’s largest campaign ever.

The tract contains biblical quotations about the promise of blessing amid suffering, alongside a touching poem in colloquial Arabic. Following is the English translation:

Who fears the other?
The row in orange, watching paradise open?
Or the row in black, with minds evil and broken?

“The design is meant so that it can be given to any Egyptian without causing offense,” said Atallah. “To comfort the mourning and challenge people to commit to Christ.”

Let us pray that God would turn the evil which this ISIS affiliate group has done into good, by using this tract to impact the lives of those who do not know Him. Remember the words of Joseph, “…You sold me,…God did send me…”

BULLETIN FOR SUNDAY MARCH 22, 2015

“It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord”. So we have come today to do just that. Welcome!

Earlier this year, Open Doors released its latest World Watch List (WWL). The annual list highlights the top 50 countries where Christians face the most persecution. This year, the threshold was higher for a country to be ranked on the list. This means that worldwide levels of persecution have risen, according to Open Doors, in analysis of the “significant trends” in 2014. Persecution higher worldwide, they said, “even in places where it has not been reported in the past.”

So while countries such as Sri Lanka and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) fell significantly in rank on this year’s watch list (Sri Lanka dropped 15 spots to No. 44, and the UAE dropped 14 spots to No. 49), their level of persecution dropped only slightly from last year’s list (by four points and two points, respectively, on a 100-point scale). And while three countries—Bahrain, Morocco, and Niger—were removed from the list this year. The level of persecution in each of them remained virtually the same from 2013 to 2014.

However, throughout 2014 in general, pressure on Christians increased in 29 countries, decreased in 11, and remained stabled in 7. Three countries—Mexico, Turkey, and Azerbaijan—were added to the watch list this year.

Let us remember to pray for our brethren throughout the world who are suffering persecution. Pray that God would strengthen them and make them powerful witnesses for Him.

BULLETIN FOR SUNDAY MARCH 15, 2015

We give God praise for this another Sunday when we can assemble and enjoy the freedom of public worship.

A new study released at the 2015 National Religious broadcasters (NRB) convention, examines just who exactly engages with Christian books, radio, TV and movies. Christian media caters primarily to the Christian community. However, the study found that approximately one third of the audience for Christian media are non-Christians.

The biggest supporters of Christian media by demographics are African Americans. About a quarter of these frequently watch Christian Television, while only 8 percent of Asian Americans, 7 percent of whites and 3 percent of Hispanics do so. One-fifth of African Americans frequently listen to Christian radio programs and 9 percent say they frequently listen to Christian podcasts. Nearly one-quarter of African Americans frequently read Christian books; only 9 percent of white respondents, 8 percent of Asian American respondents, and 2 percent of Hispanic respondents said they do..

However, whites still comprise the biggest share of the Christian media audience by sheer numbers. Those who frequently or sometimes tune in to Christian TV or radio, are 58 percent; podcast 45 percent; book readership, 60 percent and Christian movies, 59 percent.

But remember, one third of the of the audience for Christian media are non-Christians. We need to pray earnestly that the Word of God they are hearing will reach them.
